How Can severe Rib Cage Pain Be Treated?
I have had painful skin on on my rib cage that is a band that goes around to my back for about 8 days now. It is very painful even getting the goosebumps hurts. I do have some swelling on my check bone and forhead on the same side of my body! What could cause this painful skin. I am 51 years old and consider myself healthy. I did take a steroid for a cold a few weeks ago, could that cause this?

Pain that is sharp, and is ok skin if a firm of a band that involves one half of the body may be herpes zoster, a viral skin diseases, also called shingles. Just see if there is any rash or redness at that area that would be confirmatory of shingles.
